You can pull an entire country with that!
OK, no, but I’m happy speeds are this high at all. Thank god for university internet. It’d be a miracle to even get 50 down at home.

I’m spoiled
Also my connection is too fast to reliably measure with speedtest’s servers

Holy moly.

It’s gigabit up and down, but most test servers peter out above
800mbps sustained

Where and how?

verizon fios, lehigh valley PA
Reasonably affordable too, it’s like $95/month for gigabit symmetrical service

I sure am glad I’m paying C omcast a billion dollars a month for 24 down 6 up...

Some server upstream from me keeps eating the packets from my desktop and only my desktop. My laptop is pulling 67mbps down from the same spot.

I hate how they control so much of the telecom and broadcasting market but god damn they make a good fiber internet.

Ah, but look at that shitty ping. I get 2 ms. :-)
On the other hand my connection is 10x slower than yours to actually do anythi ng useful....

*laughs in 0.6 Mbps*

So much for the myth of “no rural internet,” huh?
Google has been tearing up our neighboorhood this week, Austin was one of the first cities to get their stuff, but it was really spotty, and hasn’t been available where I live. It’s like they expanded way too much, too fast, and imploded. And AT&T stepped in with their own fiber network, which mostly stinks.
And I’m stuck with Time Warner cable, which cuts out randomly.

To be fair, I’m not really rural. I’m in a fairly urban neighborhood of a medium size city (population ~120,000).

Look at that big, girthy pipe

I hated when I had Comcraptic. Their bandwidth caps were especially bullshit in addition to the over priced service.

I was going to cheat by running the test off the server, but it’d be cheating. it’s a 10Gbps link.

I’ve always wanted a high speed synchronous connection but can’t really justify the added cost, here’s what $50 gets us .
BTW, just Google speed test and you can use theirs....I imagine it'll max your even a fiber line.

lol...guess i have an s2000 amongst interwebs
plenty power...no torques :p

I’m just tooling along in my ‘85 dodge colt...
so I may be a little late to the party
![]() 02/26/2020 at 01:39 |

Gutless. Powerless. And so much turbo lag...
The ping in satellite internet tends to make the impact of speed moot these days...

Oh, so you’re one of those limited-production hypercars nobody likes?
![]() 02/26/2020 at 01:48 |

Abysmal upspeeds.
![]() 02/26/2020 at 02:09 |

haha more like a bus. Heaps of bandwidth but heaps of data to move.

5G here is reliably downloading at 500... Maybe slow for 5G but
it’s a blessing nonetheless
.

182hp, 433ft-lbs. That would be an amazing engine.

Why can’t that be the norm? I want what you have, but at home.

I think you can outrun a Williams with that.

VTEC at the same RPM as a MotoGP bike, too.

For a turbodiesel.

I prefer torque in my engines opposed to all the “HP war” bullshit going on currently.

Rub it in why don’t you....geez.
In all actuality, 10% up vs down is pretty typical for asynchronous and it works fine for us.

Others on here have me beat on horsepower, but I have the torque.
